NTPC will set up a coal-to-synthetic natural gas (SNG) facility in Chhattisgarh, with an estimated investment of around ₹10,000 crore, a senior company official told news agency PTI.

Konaseema District Joint Collector T Nisanthi said the blowout has been fully controlled. “The fire is extinguished. Almost no flames now. Blowout (was) fully controlled this (Saturday) morning,” she told PTI.

NTPC to set up coal-to-SNG project at ₹10,000 cr capex in Chhattisgarh
New Delhi: NTPC will set up its coal-to-synthetic natural gas facility in Chhattisgarh at an investment of around ₹10,000 crore, a senior company official said. The company is looking for technology tie-ups for various processes, like coal beneficiation and gasification, to produce synthetic natural gas (SNG), the official said, requesting anonymity.
